Papi’s Injury

The Red Sox training staff have replaced Papi’s cast and he is set to resume strength training exercises this week.  I wouldn’t be at all surprised to Papi get back into games in the next 4-5 days. Maybe sooner.

They won’t need to make a trade to replace his bat because he’ll be back as long as there are no setbacks.

Does Papi lose his position in the lineup with J.D.Drew on fire? Will Manny be better protected with Papi hitting behind him in the 5th slot?

I just don’t think you want to mess up what J.D has going on right now until he begins to cool off.

    Thoughts?

I would LOVE to have Drew hitting like he is right now but behind Papi and Manny but I just don’t think he’d see the same kind of pitches that he’s seeing now with Manny as protection behind him.. then again Manny has missed a few games and Drew still seemed to be on fire (4-5 the other day with a HR and 1-2 with a HR a few days before that while Manny was still out.)

I think we just don’t rush Papi and enjoy winning while Drew is tearing things up ;X

I’m with you. Leave Drew in the three hole. If Papi can come back and produce they should just roll over opponents.
